Cargo delivery through Mongolia is carried out along the main route through the China-Mongolia and Mongolia-Russia border crossings

  • Border crossing of Eren-Hoto city, China - Zamyn-Uud, Mongolia.
  • Border crossing of Altan-Bulag, Mongolia - Kyakhta, Republic of Buryatia (customs post of IACP Kyakhta).

According to this route, cargoes are transported by road or rail from China to the border city of Eren-Hoto, China (Erlian railway station), which is the largest land border crossing point on the Sino-Mongolian border. The TIR (TIR) system is applied at this border crossing.

From Eren-Khoto, cargo is transshipped across the border with Mongolia to the border town of Zamyn-Uud, Mongolia. From there, the cargo follows the Mongolian border to the Russian border - the border crossing of Altan-Bulag, Mongolia, - Kyakhta, Republic of Buryatia. From Kyakhta, the cargo goes through Russia (via Ulan-Ude).

Our cargo transportation scheme through Mongolia:

The road distance from Shanghai and Beijing to Eren-Hoto (Erlian railway station) is 1,630 and 551 km, respectively.
Between the Mongolian cities of Zamyn-Uud and Altan-Bulag - 997 km.
From Kyakhta to Ulan-Ude is 283 km.

TAMGA has its own office in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, where Russian and Mongolian specialists work to ensure the solution of logistical problems in the interests of our clients, constant control over the process of cargo transportation and timely passage of border crossings.

Along with this, our company has a pool of trusted Mongolian carriers authorized to carry out international road transportation on the route PRC - Mongolia - Russia and back, including TIR procedure.

Shipping cargo through Mongolia has a number of advantages:

  • Shorter distance from the interior of China to Russia, which allows for prompt delivery of cargoes to Russia.
  • One overload along the entire route (Eren-Hoto, PRC).
  • No list system of border crossing for cargo transport.
  • No large queues at border crossings.

This route is mainly used for transportation of cargoes placed in all-metal and tilt semitrailers.

When transporting by rail, it should be borne in mind that the gauge of railroads in the PRC is narrower than in Russia and Mongolia, due to which the rolling stock at the border stations of the Chinese railroad is replaced with wheel sets, which leads to an increase in border crossing time.
